DATE BUILT 1900; ORIGINAL USE: RESIDENCE OF  HUCKSTER (PEDDLER),William Brouse.  Items of note: Current owners are only the second owners of the property.   Mr. Brouse had traded with a planing mill in Oak hall to allow him to make the trim for inside the house.  The trim is all of chestnut, the lumber of choice at the time, but now no longer available  due to the blight that destroyed the chestnut population in the US.

Excerpts from Penn State Student Papers on Boalsburg, Professor Sally McMurry History 302W; personal communication from  owner, Mr. Bailey.
