Mimi Boal Lee, sixth generation Boal, Senior Olympic champion, and First Lady of Maryland, dies at 91 years of age.

Sad news: On August 9, sixth generation Boal, Mathilde "Mimi" Boal Lee died in Silver Spring, Maryland. A Museum board member since its inception in 1952, Mimi Lee was equally at home in the highest political circles (she was the wife of Maryland Governor Blair Lee III) and in the wildest places (she hiked the Appalachian Trail and, in Spain, the Way of Saint James of Compostello). She was a faithful supporter of the museum function here and will Rest in Peace in the Boal family crypt beneath the Columbus Chapel.
