Jean Baptiste Joseph d'Haussy, musician artist, was born in Haussy (near Valenciennes in the north of France) the 9th of November 1771. At first, he worked as a printer in Valenciennes then in Paris where, the 26th of August 1794, he requests and gets from the republican Faction "Poissonniere", an identity certificate refering to this profession of printer. At this time, his home was at the 2 rue du Faubourg Poissonniere and he was probably employed by Louis Guibert Pallissaux, himself master-printer at the same adress. Born in Haussy near Valenciennes, Jean Baptiste Joseph was very young when he settled in Paris. He had married the 7th of September 1794, Jacqueline Henriette Marquet from whom he divorced, without children, the 17th of May 1795. As his younger brother Arsene Louis, settled in Paris at the 205 rue Faubourg Saint Martin, he became a musician and married a second time, the 1st of August 1801 in Ivry sur Seine, Nicole David, daughter of Pierre David, merchant, and Marie Jeanne Champagne. The girl Jean Baptiste and Nicole had got the 3rd of June 1800 in Paris, before their marriage, was acknowledged and legitimate, with the given name of Marie Victoire Desiree, at the time of the marriage, as it is said in the official act. Jean Baptiste and his wife had still two children, Jean Arsene, born in Ivry the 20th of November 1803 and Jacques Auguste, born in Paris the 7th of January 1810. Jean Baptiste is dead the 8th of July 1858 and buried in the Pere Lachaise Cemetery. His son, Jean Arsene, married the 5th of October 1858 his partner, Clarisse Sacard, wardrobe keeper, born in Vesoul (Haute-Saone) the 7th of January 1822. The younger brother of Jean Baptiste, Arsene Louis, born the 21st of March 1775 in Valenciennes, was a musician artist and married in Paris the 26 of September 1801, Marguerite Eulalie Clement, daughter of Nicolas Clement, Master-organist in Provins (Seine & Marne) and teacher in Music; the grand-father of Marguerite was himself an organ-builder. They got four sons but none has followed a musical career. Jean Marie Arsene was a tailor, Pierre Arnaud and Louis Pierre schoemakers, Jean Baptiste Alphonse a watchman, all in Paris where they married and founded a family. The grand-son of Pierre Arnaud, Raoul Jules, born in Neuilly-sur-Seine the 27th of May 1884, has followed a career of Colonial Administrator and is dead in Tananarive (Madagascar) the 28th of April 1941.
