Boalsburg Village Conservancy Annual Meeting. Sunday, December 2, 2007. 5 PM. Free and open to the public. Location: Upsatirs at Duffy's Tavern on East Main Street in Boalsburg. Program included "Boalsburg's Rough Riders: Terry Boal and the Boal Troop" by local historian Philip Sauerlender, MFA. and presentation of the 2007 Boalsburg Village Conservancy Golden Hammer Awards. Refreshments were served by Patty DeVecka and Cindy Shaler.
“Boalsburg’s Rough Riders” To Stand Front and Center at December 2 Event. (Boalsburg, PA) - In historic Boalsburg village, America’s World War I military history will stand front and center on Sunday, December 2, as local historian Philip Sauerlender speaks on “Boalsburg’s Rough Riders: Terry Boal and the Boal Troop.” Based on extensive new research, the slide program features many historical photographs and documents of Boalsburg and the Boal Troop, which was organized and funded by Theodore Davis Boal on his home estate in 1916 and saw service on the Mexican border and in France during World War I.

It will take place after a brief annual meeting of the Boalsburg Village Conservancy at 5 PM at Duffy’s Tavern in Boalsburg at the conclusion of the Conservancy’s Hometown Christmas activities that day. The Conservancy meeting will also feature the activities of the various historical and community groups in Boalsburg and Harris Township, including planning for the Boalsburg’s 200th anniversary in 2008 and 2009, and the election of four board members.
